What an amazing view! What an amazing looking city. I can imagine you are having a wonderful time. The gardens and vineyards don’t look like they have been affected by fall temps yet. Thanks for sharing your pics. -- 'To plant a Garden is to believe in Tomorrow' |

I think last night was the first frost. It surely has been cold here the last few days, but down to 0C or 32F overnight with a high of 8C. I noted in a garden that I tried unsuccessfully to get into today, that all the plants were gone except the evergreens and shrubs which had already been pruned back for the winter. The oleanders were lining the halls near the door to the garden. Too bad I missed it. Perhaps another day in another venue … Actually, I just checked and it is -1C so the leaves will be falling soon. -- jroot ....... This city survived major damage during both world wars, so there is a LOT of history still here … some dating back to the 1200’s or earlier. Truly amazing architectural finds.

Great trip and photos Jroot…...People have asked me which city is my favourite from all my trips, but that is such a hard question to answer. In Europe though, it in my top 3 without a doubt. I have only flew into Prague once back when I was in London UK, the rest of the times I accessed Prague through Vienna ( westbanhof station ), and later went on to Brastislava ( Slovakia ), and Budapest ( Hungary ) -- Hooked on Gardening.....Ontario zone 5b |

In a couple of days, we are going to Florence and later Rome. Hopefully I’ll find some gardens there which are not frozen. -- jroot ....... Southern Ontario .......... grow zone 5A ...................."Gardening is an exercise in optimism." ....... . . Author Unknown |

Jroot, I am thoroughly enjoying your fantastic photography. Would like to see you and Gail in some photographs. Waiting to see pictures from your next destinations. I’ve taken over 350 photos so far, but the weather is not conducive to fantastic shots, so I’ll have to do some major editing when I return home. My wife took this one, on the sly, today. I hope no one is offended. We were in the “old town” of Prague taking in our last sites of this fascinating city before we depart for Florence early tomorrow morning. Interestingly enough, Pilsner is less costly than a can of coca cola. -- jroot ....... Southern Ontario .......... grow zone 5A ...................."Gardening is an exercise in optimism." ....... . . Heck, I thought I had included hers. ... sorry about that. Here she is enjoying an important part of her 1st meal lin Florence, Italy. Today we had big rains in Florence, so tomorrow we expect to see more interesting sites than the inside of restaurants. We did get to see the orignal statue of David, here in Florence … .yes it is truly quite clear and graphic ;), but beautiful at the same time.

Good pics, jroot. Looks like you both are truly enjoying your visit. I do hope you able to visit some of the wonderful ruins I have only seen in travelogues. Meanwhile do enjoy the wine and food.———-you can work it off when you get home. LOL -- 'To plant a Garden is to believe in Tomorrow' |

Thank you Jroot for the nice picture. The weather may now be more suitable for taking pictures, so take as many as you can and let me at least see these wonderful places in pictures.
