and these I found growing where I work. The lady doesn’t have time to keep up, and lets me take whatever I want. I always graciously take pieces [with root], and never leave holes. They are about 18” tall and have silvery leaves. Methinks they are herbs of some sort.
Gotta love bein hitched to a lumberjock – FREE woodchips!

First on looks like yellow loosestrife. Second one yellow yarrow.

BTW, both very pretty. :-)

... and the yarrow is a prolific self seeder … looks pretty with its lacey foliage, but quite agressive.

Thanks!
I wouldn’t even have known where to look to figure out what they are.
According to the pictures in Dave’s Garden, it is yellow Loosetrife.

I’ve been watching the Yarrow where I work, and it hasn’t spread much. She only had 2 clumps of it. I took a piece of each one.

You’ll have lots more in a few years. :) – particularly if you let it go to seed.

What you can try is cutting it frequently as it flowers. Achillea (the yellow yarrow) is a good cut flower.
