Credible studies now suggest the the earth has been cooling over the last ten years . Gore’s climate model does not even allow for this as a possibliltiy.
What’s up with that?

Bob

I did post a few months ago scientific articles that took 2-3 hours to read and watch the films that most people would not take the time to read or watch that most scientists did not support any of Gore’s claims and these article explained what the earth does every 800 years.

The earth must do the cooling off and warming up cycles to support life. if it didn’t we would not be here. The earth would be either one huge ball of ice or another sun

The earth goes through a cycle every 800 years. Takes 800 years to cool off then takes another 800 years to heat up to what claims have been now as global warming and now cooling off again and the cycle repeats itself over and over.

That article and many others I have read written by many well know scientist have been saying over and over and do have proof, the ice caps build new ice faster than it melts.

But what has been shown on TV of huge ice burgs melting has made the world panic at least those who are panic pushers.
I do not like G W Bush but he at least did not support those to try and stop the so called Global warming that would have cost billions and Billions because he for once listened to the scientific world who made common sense of what was actually happening and can not be stopped anyway.

Mr Harper has dragged his feet to support this also and basically as far as I am concerned was bullied into by other countries just this year to spend $$$ billions of our money on global warming.

To take care of this earth by us is a “must”” but trying to stop the earth from warming and cooling what the earth has been doing for billions of years, is so ridiculous and a waste of $$$ multi billions and the stress put on us.

I saw the film by Gore and it was excellent. with some very wise suggestions for us to look after the earth. But he made his millions and his Nobel prize. He simply looked for a way of fame and glory and got it but all the time never followed the rules in his own home as he preached to the world. I lost respect for him there and any thing he represents..

He is nothing more than a politian with very little if no scientific knowledge and he simply repeated to make his film what some panic pusher $$$ seeking others told him.

The earth is doing nothing in our life time any more or less than it has done for billions of years

Do I believe in this so called Global warming?? NO, absolutely NO

The global warming scares have been nothing more than money making ideas and to keep some of these nitwits employed

What galls me most is that they are in the schools scaring the crap out of little kids and telling them they are all going to die!
The there is the gullible government that intends to carbon tax us out of it.

How about leading by example for a change.

Hi Bob

I’m one of “those” people, .................”those” who believe that the climate on the planet Earth is changing and I personally believe that “human beings” are the root cause.

A few years ago I went out to BC to do some snow skiing at a place called Fernie which claims to get 29’ of annual snowfall…..........it was a mud pit. Look at pictures ofthe Glaciers in Canada, the USA (Alaska) Europe, South America, Africa…......pick one and compare photos taken in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 20’s…..and now then tell me things arent changing?..........Or look at Iceland and Greenlands “Ice”

Is the planet heating up?..........I’m not sure but the climate is certainly changing and geological time frames it’s changing extremely fast.

I dont dwell on it, I try not to think about it, do what I can but I do worry about my children and what this planet will have left for them when they reach my age.

Greenthumb, I can only report what the science community is telling us. I cant’ change that.
There is a very real line between what is happening in the habitable world and the number of people depending on it.

Perhaps for these pressures nature is receding.

But, the planet is healthy otherwise and will probably shake off the indulgences of humans within this millennium.
There are far too many humans on the planet and something must/will give.
End of the world no, end of humanity perhaps.
In 2000, the United Nations estimated that the world’s population was growing at the rate of 1.14% (or about 75 million people) per year,[27] down from a peak of 88 million per year in 1989. In the last few centuries, the number of people living on Earth has increased many times over. By the year 2000, there were 10 times as many people on Earth as there were 300 years ago. According to data from the CIA’s 2005–2006 World Factbooks, the world human population increased by 203,800 every day.[28] The CIA Factbook increased this to 211,090 people every day in 2007, and again to 220,980 people every day in 2009.”

There are times when that is probably enough for some people.

clean air; clean water; clean soil. That’s what we have damaged and have the power to change. No politics – just plain old live-preserving common sense.

Perhaps there are two things here being addressed as one?
First Global Warming which appears to be a myth and an attempt to burden eathlings with yet another form of taxation.

The second is Eco responsibility that involves better stewardship of the natural resources and a greater understanding of how the effects of human activity dramatically affects the other living systems.

There was a great documentary on tv awhile back talking about the 800 year cycle and other cycles the earth goes through. It also talked about the ice caps rebuilding just as fast as they are melting. There was also mention of how the earth reacts when other planets become closer to us.Like the tides and ocean movement. It more or less said earth has been there; done that; and is doing it again.

I saw that too Bon.
I felt was well put together and did not seem to take one side or the other as far as the “warming thing” is concerned.
One thing I have noticed all my life is that when weather is “outside” whatever we consider “normal” there is always recorded evidence that we have had the same or worse 50- 60 or even 90 years before.
It applies to both temperature swings, unsettled weather patterns and drought.
I can easily remember the confusion and outright stupid behavior of millions before the millenium came and passed and one of my inlaws (an engineer) stockpiling electrical generators because mainly of some bad advice he recieved from his church.
So much for a higher education. <g>

As Debbie points out- clean air, water, soil.
With 221,000 additional people comming to the planet every day that can and will be an interesting race for those commodities.

That is just what I am talking about Bon

Educated the kids about how to take care of our planet, we all need this education and stick to it

I remember asking my pastor why he didn’t talk about the millenium in church and he would not. He felt he was not educated enough and no sense is scaring people

No one will ever convince me of global warming. Taking care of the earth, you bet. I sure do my job of it
