Great Eklectic I was just going to look them up for you and you beat me to it. Good luck. If you were close I could get you started with some worms.

Pharmerphil: Hope the web sites that Eklectic found will help you. Its great fun and I got two of my grand daughters helping me. It was supposed to be a small business….ha ha. They did get into it and learned some new things anyway. Business, well that’s questionable. Haven’t sold any but I have bags piling up in the garage.

Yes, I’ve maintained a worm bin for many years. I’ll do a write up on it at a later time. Any specific questions out there? Please let me know.

One question I have for others doing worm bins: how do you keep the pill bug populations under control? Is there a natural predator?

I have a large bucket with a tight lid that I keep the gathered food stored and then I put it out in my unheated garage. This has kept the population down. I have 8 bins in my basement and there has been no problem since I started doing this. in the summer I will move everyhthing to the back deck and being outside I don’t worry about it too much.
