Topic tags/keywords: seeds

I spent the day looking through seeds and pondering what I would like to have to grow in my garden this year.

If anyone would like to share some seeds/plants…here is what I am looking for:

OK bare in mind I have a very short growing season here in Newfoundland…Our last frost date is June 20th.
So early varieties are a must.

I have never been lucky with tomatos so if you have a great early tomato variety you could share or even tell me about that would be great…same goes for peppers….and soome tips on growing them :)

I am looking for a good early corn…Must be GMO free and preferably organic.

I would also like to try some of those interesting summer squash like flying saucer and sunburst.

A nice sugar-snap pea or some variety where you can eat the pod.

An early cauliflower…Veronica would be neat but any that have done well for you would be interesting to try.

Chinese cabbage such as nikko.

Also I am dying to have some hardy/weedy blackberries, raspberries, black current and big strawberrries (I only have alpines)...So if you are thining out any of yours Please Please Please send some bareroot plants my way :)

If you check out my profile you will see the seeds I have to share…I still have most varieties so just ask and I’ll see what I have for you :)

Seattle has a short season for Tomatoes. I put mine in a hoop house until early June here, so my favorite cultivar, ‘Stupice’ may be an option for you. Good flavor, clustered bunches of fruit ranging in size from small slicers to cherries. Consistently a good producer. Also, a low-light cherry option, which I keep indoors is ‘Red Robin’. I wrote a bit on my indoor experience with this one here.

You might try contacting Raintreenursery.com for fruit ideas. They’re one of the largest catalogers of fruiting plants that I’m aware of.
