I think summer returned this morning at least temperature wise, yesterday I had my doubts, as I ALMOST could have put my sweatshirt on!!!! A little too “fallish” for me!!! ... it is 11:18 here and beautiful and getting quite warm too.

As for mums, I haven’t been out in a week … but now a days, they just seem to be rushing every season. Shame really …

We got some mums yesterday to put on my wife’s mom’s grave. They looked healthy with good roots. Should do well.

Is it fall or spring? Who knows. Apparently not my neighbour’s yellow magnolia either. It is blooming again, for the 2nd time this year. Strange.

Talk about fall.I was in Newcastle on Wed. and the bushes and some of the small trees are turning red already.I was thinking to myself “How can this be?Wasn’t it just yesterday that my flowers started blooming?”I really do love the fall colours though.

I went to St Jacobs market again today, to check out the mums. Normally around here, a gallon pot will sell for $5.95. I got 12 plants of the same colour for $27 tax included. Not a bad deal considering that 12 x $5.95 = $71.40 + tax = $80.68. I also picked up a really nice looking Russian Sage, but had to pay more for that – $8.00

I sure hope someone remembers to water them when I am away for a holiday.

fantastic deal!
makes me want to go shopping!

I haven’t been to St. Jacobs since my daughter worked at the bakery there (several years ago). What a wonderful place to visit

We had single digit temperatures last week at night and the trees are turning colour and the geese are flying south. I am going to bring my house plants in before I go away. One year we went away in October and they had snow while we were gone!!

OMG, you said geese.. Got me to thinking about the ones flying over our place.. But, they’re flying north?

We’ve had 50 or so fly over recently heading due north.

hmm..

We had 22 straight days of pounding down rain

I had to wear a sweater too plus the furnance on in early mornings for an hour or so and the dehumidifier

so damp and cold

Then this weekend was so nice and I was too sick to go outside . Now pouring rain again and for the the next 3 days

I didn’t have summer yet. Can someone send me some. Pwease….

Actually, right now there’s a warm front moving up through KY from directly south. We had rain last night blowing from due south, which is rare. Going to rain almost every day this week, down here.

Stratford, – that’s where I was born and raised. Did my elementary and secondary school there. Spent 7 years in the theatre. Good memories.

I/we have such wonderful memories of St. Jacob’s and Stratford. Would head there every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Jroot … theater in Stratford??? When … any chance we would have seen you on stage?

Way back in the late 50’s. Much Ado About Nothing. seems appropriate. I was a youngun then and was singing several times during the play. Most of my time there was front of house, ushering, managing the ushers, and finally was director of exhibits with two exhibit halls to run, and a whole lot of college girls to manage. ;) That was fun.

jroot—Oh, what marvelous memories you must have of that time in your life! Hubby and I LOVE “Much Ado About Nothing”!!! We saw it at Stratford and have the Kenneth Branaugh (I think that is how you spell his name) edition on DVD.

And I finally remembered the B&B we stayed at … Jacobstettle. Was driving me crazy that I couldn’t remember the name. :-)
