Considering we had a very cold April and May, June and July set all records here for rainfall, I just found it weird to be August already! They had again predicted a hot and dry summer, seems those farmers don’t know much LOL! Not complaining, I hate the heat and humidity.

Seems like it just went, but where?

pretty soon…................

anyone else found it went really fast this year?

I was just remarking the other day that summer is half over already. We could hardly wait for it to get here back in May.How come it goes so fast and winter and spring go so slow.Think I will plant plastic flowers in the snow this winter and see if it goes any faster. ha ha ha.

I am at awe to it is half over

Soon the kids will be going back to school then we will Christmas shopping then embedding once again another new year and me creeping to be another year older, cracky!!!

BTW

Environment Canada predicted the hot dry summer, not the farmers

It has been thundering all day and smashing around as I type

Yes. And the other day when it rained I had to look very close to make sure it wasn’t snow. And people are talking about collecting seeds and my plants are just coming into bloom!!!

buying crocus bulbs this fall, and will plant them in my planters for a quick spring colour…...........did I say spring?

my neighbour has them planted through out her front yard right in the lawn, looks awesome!

Still debating about spring bulbs … I have terrible luck with them. Seems the squirrels like to eat mine. Haven’t been successful yet. :-(

GranT, try planting chicken wire on top of them!

I could try that, but so much work … not sure I want to bother … have to think about that. But, THANKS for the suggestion. :-)

I use bood and bone meal for my bulbs.I put it in the bulb hole and also spread it around on top.It worked great for my tulips but the darn squirrels still got my daffodils at my last place.

I used chicken wire 2 years ago when planting all of my tulips, it stayed on from October until following spring.

just held them down by beach rocks we have circling the gardens.

no squirrels then, he he!

squirrels will get at anything, even ceyenne pepper, they are non-stoppable little creatures!

I’ve used the chicken wire trick also. Last year I planted moth balls with the bulbs, but they still got them.
