Went to WallyWorld today for dog food and treats. While there I had to (of course) cruise the patio and see what they had on clearance. Well, they had perennials still in great condition (root bound, of course) at 70% off. So I came home with a tickseed, a Gaillardia, and a Huechera——Plum Pudding, a gorgeous purple foliage, for less than one of them at full price !.Color me a happy camper!

Lowes is more fun, love that dying plant rack they have.. At least ours has.. People who work at ours can’t seem to remember to water plants well.

Oh well.. More cheap plants for me. :)

Hmm.. Wish I could find a cheap tickseed.. Still haven’t seen that on the rack yet.

I’m waiting for some one to chastise you for going to “that store”.

My retired neighbor works at “that store” part time. I had him eye-balling a tiller ready to go on clearance a couple of weeks ago. He called me and said they marked it down from $580 to $400. I told him I’d be right there. ah …. the joys of power tools. I’ve slaughtered many weeds over the past couple weekends. I’m happier than Godzilla in downtown Tokyo!

Now I’m waiting for the mini cultivator to show up. Should be here monday or tuesday. Got $50 off on it. It’s a Craps-man.

Used to work at Kmart, learned to absolutely LOVE the clearance racks, also learned you gotta cruise the stores pretty regularly if you wanna get in on those deals.

Oh, and Scott, unfortunately, I don’t have a Lowe’s close, just Menard’s and Home Depot, and when they kill their plants, they kill ‘em dead.

LOL.. Well, our Lowes just kills them half to 3/4 of the way most times. Enough to make them look absolutely awful.

Our Wal*Mart had a dedicated clearance isle for the longest time.. I’d go through it every time I was in the store. Not much good there though, but were alot of electronics and such. No need for any new DVD players though.

They got rid of the isle however. Oh well.

Home Depot ever do discount racks like Lowes (non plant, that is)? Lowes always has stuff in the store that’s dirt cheap. I’d picked up some $100 lights one time for $10 and a $300 special order countertop for $20..

I love good deals.

Our nursery did this thing one year where we gave away Tomato plants OmG it was so crazy busy I couldn’t believe it. It only cost me 7 cents a plant and it was such good will.
