the last main job to do was to lift the poorly laid slabs clean up the concrete base and lay the new slabs . I wish!! then there was no concrete slab just a few bits of path earth beds and tons of sand.i have to reduce the level of the sand base then mix it up wih cement and aggregate and lay it as a concrete base. i started it in the intense high temperatures we have at the moment and i have injured my shoulder so i cannot use my right arm at all the pain keeps me wake most of the night, i cant get to the pub and if i did i could not even pick my cider up with the right hand or type this with it. there i have had a moan

1- the occasional moan makes one feel better, glad to oblige.
2-don’t you just love repairing someone else’s jerry-rigged mess?
3- TAKE CARE OF THAT SHOULDER !!!!!! can’t have you missing too many pints!

So sorry about that shoulder Mike! Hope you manage to get some rest during the day to make up for those painful nights!
And as Dini says:”the occasional moan makes one feel better, glad to oblige

Moan away, I say!!! It does at times make one feel so much better.

Do take care of that shoulder … and if the pain persists, then you need to get into a doctor!!!! Don’t be a “guy” about this (guys here in America avoid the doctor like the plague). Anyway, I truly wish you a speedy recovery cuz I know your pub friends are missing your wonderful singing and sharing of the Cider.

a moan a day keeps the doctor away.. oh wait, I think that is an apple a day!

Rick’s had shoulder troubles for YEARS and years and years… I took him to my naturopath who did a little acupuncture on him and the pain is gone. Now it only hurts if he does something silly like lift cement slabs in the heat of summer or something like that.

Hope your recovery is fast so you can enjoy your cider again.

I feel for you Mike.
Did my right should a bad turn back in Feburary with a sheet of 3/4” plywood and it still makes me wake up at night.
I am using Tylenol arthritis now right after work and oft times folowed with A-535 rub before bed,
Not recommending a cure but it let’s me get the tough tasks done during the day and still get some precious slleep at night.
None of this is a substiture for a decent night out at the bar. <g>
Get well soon

Bob

i asked the doctor if i will be able to play the piano when this gets better, he said of course you will, which is great news because i couldn`t play it before!!!

That last line is a good one, Mike. ”i asked the doctor if i will be able to play the piano when this gets better, he said of course you will, which is great news because i couldn`t play it before!!!

Sometimes, when I work in the garden, I wonder if it is worth all the pain at the end of the day. Then I sit down with a nice single malt and suddenly the pain dissapates, and the garden starts to look good. I sure did a lot of lugging of stone in here to get the bones established for these gardens here.

No Pain – No Gain.

Hope you’re feeling better. Have a single malt with me in mind, Mike.

If you damaged the rotator cuff, you had best do what the Dr. orders, my friend, and if he suggests physiotherapy, do it! I tore mine several years ago, and it was a long slow road to recovery, including several weeks p.t., just to be able to raise the arm over shoulder level.

HI DINI YES I DONT THINK I GOING TO DO ANY MORE SHOVELLING AND CONCRETING FOR A WHILE.
THIS PROBLEM OF BEING ABLE TO LIFT MY RIGHT ARM IS WORRYING I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO PRACTISE LOWERING MY MOUTH DOWN TO THE MUG OF CIDER .

Once the shoulder heals, therapy can help you regain your range of motion and strength, but it truly is a long, slow, painful (I think all physiotherapists are sadists, lol)road.
