They’re so cute! And I’m so glad not to have bunnies in the house anymore!
They are litter trainable, and so cuddly, but it’s nice not to have to worry about electrical cords.

Oh GRandma T

I just adore them.

When my kids were small, we had a big black and white one.

His name was Thumper. He was a house pet most of the time but he still had his pen outside. He was litter box trained and never missed.

The house was full. 5 cats, a rabbit, a gerbil, 2 dogs and 3 kids an I worked and hubby’s job took him away most of the time and this house was spotless. Better than now, lol,lol

I wish I had the energy now as I had then

But thumper love attention and he got it from everyone who came in. He was a lap rabbit. lol,lol

I had a huge fern in the front window. He loved sitting under it and we never paid no attention only to think it was cute with him under there, now and then peeking out from beneath .

Then after a few weeks after he discovered the fern. I began to see light though it during the day. I never did before but didn’t take the time to look.

Then one night we had company and Shirely and Bob made a big deal of him again as normal and he knew it.

He jumped off Bob’s knee and under the fern he went.

We kept right on chatting, then Thumper peeked from underneath at me.

WOW it hit me!!! I looked and here he was eating the fern from the inside out and the fern getting pretty thin

We had to put a small fence up around the fern after to keep him out that but the fern never really fully recovered.

We lost Thumper the next year due to over kindness. My FIL loved him a bit too much and over fed him those pellets til he turned to jelly and died. He got so fat.

MY FIL lived next door and he fed him just a bit too much which I never noticed nor forgave myself

They are indeed so small and so very adorable.

“Sir” Thumper the Second”. Is it a boy or girl? Oh they are indeed sweet.

Hi Bunting,
your story just reminded me of the white rabbit I had one Summer. It came with me everywhere I went! Went and visited some relatives and I had to bring it: my aunt was less than happy with me!!!:-)

Then, at the end of the Summer, we went to visit an uncle who lived on an old farm. He was quite the eccentric and his house was still without electricity, his radio was plugged on a big battery, his floor were of unfinished planks, he still had the cellar door in the middle of the room, and his wall were insulated with newspapers.

While we were visiting, I put my rabbit on the floor and he went exploring. When, a while later, I looked for him, I could not find him! We found a whole in the newspaper insulation, and behind another whole (no he did not eat that whole, it was there and the paper served as a “barrier??)!!
Still no rabbit and we had to leave! As you can imagine, I cried and cried.

A few days later, we get a phone call from my uncle, who for the occasion had gone to the village, letting me know that he had found my pet, that it was in his cellar and he was taking care of him for me!
The end of the story, is he kept my pet (much to my mom’s delight) till the day it died! And he buried it!!!
