We have been on “dial up” since we moved here! What a headache that is! How painful!
We also have many plans for different projects around this place and we are working really hard at realizing them!
One of those project is the “Big Pond” which made it to the top of the “to do list”! How exciting!
We have had contractors coming over and giving estimates. We have been planning, arguing, agreeing, all of the good things involved in a good planning!!

But then, getting on the net was sooo frustrating! Uploading, downloading takes forever! Talk about “high blood pressure”!
So, we had internet providers come and give us estimates. One had a sale, $250.00 all installed so we called them! They came! Over $1000.00 because the “tower” had to be higher than the trees because said trees were in the line of sight and blablabla! Well, we were not about to cut down half the forest so we stayed with dial up!

Then, we heard about this place, they came and gave the estimate, wasn’t too bad so we decided to go with them! Still had to cut 2 trees but that was better than the others and the price, well let’s not mention it!
Guess what? I have been trying to upload 2 pictures for this forum for the last 45 minutes!
So, sometimes it works, not really at “high speed” but better than dial up and then it doesn’t!

The techie is coming back today!! Again!!
Talk about frustration!

And did I tell you? The big pond is back at the bottom of the list!! So that we can have High Speed and not have High Blood Pressure!!!

Doesn’t your phone company offer DSL? It’s not as fast as wifi or sat-direct, but it beats the heck out of dial-up!

Can you believe it!

Eklectic…we had the same problem and couldn’t get high speed here.We decided to give Nexicom a try.Not a true high speed but it sure is faster than dial-up.We are really happy with them. Also it doesn’t interfere with your phone line when you are on the net.We are not that far apart.Maybe they are in your area too.I have no problem with pictures or videos.A couple of minutes is all it takes.

We are trying “Explore Net”!
Haven’t heard of Nexicom!
And it has freed the phone line so that is a real bonus!
They are allowing one month to try it, so we will see! So far they have been good about “service”, calling back, and all of that!
So…we are “trying” it!!! :-)
