I thought I would share this with you. This was taken yesterday about 15 minutes from where I live. Overlooking the Capital City – St. John's.

Nice shot Xo.I was fortunate enough a few yrs. ago to travel your province from end to end.I gotta say it was breath taking. We spent two weeks travelling from Port A’Basque to St. John’s and up into some of the coves.Loved the scenery and the people I met along the way.

Nice. You must live in a very pretty area.

Speaking of fog.I nearly fell off the boat laughing. We arrived in a pea souper.Never seen fog like it before.Wow.Had to pull over at the donut shop at the docks and wait for it to go away.

I was just telling my family about the whale that I “saw” when on my trip to the east coast. We were on the ferry from Maine to Nova Scotia and the fog was so thick all I saw was what I thought was a shape in the fog and I heard the blow of water from the whale that was pretty much touching the ferry. That was the only whale I “almost” saw during the entire trip (including a whale watching tour).

would I have had better luck from Nfld shore?

Oh yes….If you go Bakeapple picking along the barrens on our Souther Shore in August…Once you wade your way through the thick morning fog the whales put on quite the show…More than at marine land :) And you may even catch a few seals calling from the rocks. This time of year is caplin season…little caplin roll in to spawn and the whales follow them in. People gather to the beaches with cast nets to get caplin and you can just about take a ride on the whales at this time.

XO … how spectacular would that be to see. Have loved the ocean the few times I have seen it.
