Well, we had another storm blow thru here last night. Branches down all over, and lots of people without power. I’m grateful that we’re not getting the flooding that’s so severe just a few hundred miles west, but we’re definitely getting our share of severe weather.
The good thing is that I haven’t had to water anything all month, since we’ve had rainstorms and/or t-storms nearly every night.
I know the GTers near Detroit are getting pretty much the same weather I am, what about the rest of you?Is your weather unusually vicious this year?

My gosh I saw the storm on TV

Wow the lightening is something else. I am so afraid of it

We aren’t getting the storms in NS and we need rains desperatly

WE got a bit last nite but not enough. Gardens are still so dry

it drizzled heavy last nite but just not enough

We got a storm last night, but it didn’t seem to last for that long, unlike yours!!! Today is just beautiful, which is quite a switch from what I understand is happening your way today Dini. We have high 70’s and lots of sunshine. Rain coming, I think on Wednesday.

Stay safe ‘up north” there …

Late yesterday was a bad day here for storms. We had three major storms roll through with extremely high winds but thank goodness no hail as was promised. Every day we’ve had rain and the grounds are saturated. Many of my flower seeds have either rotted or been washed away.

Let’s hope we all have a big improvement in weather and growing conditions.

Well, “we” got it hard. Mostly my home town (Columbus, IN) and north of us (Spencer, IN). We didn’t personally have much damage in the flooding. Some of the garden washed out a bit. It was a little hard to get home….(this was about a week and a half ago). But, no big deal to us.

This came our way. I was standing on the deck watching it. A blast of air hit me hard enough I had to stand against it to keep my balance. The flooding in my home town was the worst in almost a hundred years (hence the hundred year flood maps the building dept.s go by.)

Left side

Right side

Strange big horseshoe thingy. Didn’t know whether to think …How Cool!...or Holy Sh*t!. A friend of mine sent me panaramic aerial photos of the flooding in Columbus. Mostly of water….’cause that was all there was to see. Went to see the old ones for fathers day and checked a few things out. It’s all gone now. But, southern indiana is going to take years to pay off all this stuff.

Well here we got maybe a 15 min rain last night, but that was it. It never seems to rain here, thats why I always spend 1-2 hours every evening watering my gardens. I do have rain pails all around but don’t catch to much in them.

Geez Catspaw I am pretty sure I would be thinking “Holy …” if I saw that coming my way cuz that would have frightened me terribly. Glad you guys are okay. Feel terrible for all the folk in Indiana and Iowa that are being hit by this awful flooding. Been a rough spring/early summer.

Those pics are frightening Catspaw. Today I think we’re back to autumn temps …. was only 9 C. @ 6 a.m. Rather chilly. Strange weather all over the globe. I have a gardening friend in Iowa and she is coping but its extremely serious. We have been very fortunate in my area but for trees being uprooted and limbs down from the high winds. Very fortunate indeed.

I guess we have been really fortunate here.Mostly rains at night.Which I love.Don’t have to water in the morning. Was a little windy yesterday and it looked like it was snowing here but it was just all the mountain ash trees letting go the white petals. The storm in Toronto missed us thank God.They got really big hail and lots of it.Ruined gardens and dented cars. The humidity has finally gone but it sure cooled down quick.Much nicer for working outside. :-)

Well, we got hammered on again today. Lightning, wind, rain by the bucketful, and hail.
I suppose I should be grateful, after all, it didn’t rain at all Friday (for the second time in the last 18 days).
I’ve only had to water my gardens once this year, and other than a few blooms beaten down by the rain, nothing’s been actually damaged, so maybe I’d best quit complaining.

Sometimes it is hard to find that “silver lining” in all those dark clouds; but sounds like you are trying to keep on smiling. We got a little rain early evening, but nothing to really speak about. Been fortunate thus far. Sounds like all the storms are hitting north of us in your neck of the woods … just stay safe Dini!!

Here we have seen the black skies, hear the thunder, saw some lightening, had some strong winds come in off the Lake. But not a drop of rain. Everyone around us has gotten rain. Just not here. Explains me watering 2 hours everynight.

Haven’t had to water at all this year except for seedlings!
It is raining right now! Actually pouring!
Have to load up the car and going to be on the road all day today, just hopes it stops or at least slow down before we get on the highway!
