Well…..since a couple of people on dial-up are having problems opening it up the other thread, here is a new one, for showcasing the garden blooms of 2008.

My EEs are doing well, and am still aiming for this height in the pic below, and it should be a show stopper on the front lawn

if you get yours to grow that big I’ll be able to see them from here!! :)

It will be fun watching yours grow (even if it is just through your updates).

While we were working for the basset rescue, we’d go to some kennels where we’d board dogs from time to time. They had an EE just about that size. It was amazing.. They grew it in an area they specially prepped for it, which was really soft soil some 3’x3’x4’, which made it easier to dig up to overwinter.

They said they kept the tuber under the crawlspace of the house till replanting time.

Wish I’d gotten a picture of it. Sure they still have it though.

I’ll be posting pics of mine this weekend, along with my cannas and the brug in containers. I leave for work in the wee hours of the morning, come back in the evening, and they’ve grown a few inches to a feet. I guess good potting mix, fert, compost, manure and water does work afterall

Well I sure will show ya “mine” LOL!!!! ... have ya checked out my “It’s Done” in my Container Garden Series??? (although in “my garden” the picture once enlarged shows that garden much better.) That is the new bed at the side of the house. Or my Rusty Wheelbarrow … newest “container” in the backyard. Or “A Nice Stroll” ... that shows bits and pieces of my yard as well thus far.

My yard/landscape is so different from yours … I have quite a bit of concrete to contend with, and a much smaller garden area. I have enjoyed seeing all that you have been doing.

All my hanging pots/Containers/baskets are really nice and full now, but I am just waiting for my in-ground plants to begin blooming, then I will do a photo “walk through” of my whole yard. My roses all are peppered with buds and my Stella d’ Oro daylilies are full with buds as well. Just no color yet. But soon … :-)

Hey Bullseye,
It is so kind of you to start a new thread for those of us who are on dial up!
Now we might be able to see all of your beautiful pictures (guessing here as per other’s comments)!
And GranT,
I am sure Bullseye was just pulling your leg as we all are aware of the beautiful container garden that you have put together, keeping all of us appraised of what you were doing and how you were doing it!

Oh dear did I sound “on the muscle”??? Cuz I wasn’t, I laughed at the comment … I was just “showing mine” ... sorry B if I gave that impression. That certainly was not my intention … oh my, oh my …. :-(

It would be like a make-believe garden Bunting. Thinking that even big kids would love EE’s. Have you thought of giving it a try next year …. starting early indoors. Bet you’d have a great plant with your good soil.

Is there a sweet corn variety I can plant now that is fast growing, and that will have stalks 5ft plus high by August? I am looking to plant some for privacy at the back of the house.

Where can I get it from if possible

Bulleyes

You’ve gone nuts with gardening
.

Your garden wow!!!

its beautiful. wow!!!

I have never seen a yellow canna before. Wow, it is so pretty

I don’t know of a corn that will grow that fast if planted now

But if you wanted it for privacy, your cannas would look so much nicer and prettier, even if you had to buy a few more that are already a couple feet high

I’ve never thought of corn that looked nice and if you get raccoons, they will tear it apart.

Hmm what about sunflowers that are already up at the nursery. They grow pretty fast and if they were planted a couple of weeks ago they would really grow high .

The Big Russians can grow 7-8 feet high. They might get to be 5 feet by Aug if you planted the seeds now

Just some thoughts

You don’t know me and i don’t know you. Thank goodness! However, i do think you are a very rude and ignornat individual and if you keep this up I shall be reporting you. This is no way to speak to ppl on a Forum any Forum! Life is far too short for your constant criticism.

I wasn’t aware you had a fence at the back of your property. A cedar hedge or similar will give you privacy year round while corn only temporarily.

I shall go to any Forum I wish ‘B’ .... you cannot stop me …. its all public. If you do not care for certain individuals you can always stop posting. Simple.

Blooz you are a buffoon! You can go to any forum you want, but what am asking is for you to stay out of my threads, if you can’t stick to the question being asked.

Right…you weren’t aware I had a fence because as usual, you dive in feet first. I don’t need your suggestions, they are as useful at t*ts on a bull.

I will not tolerate your very rude and ignorant behaviour. Why can you not act your age? You have such an ugly temper …... I feel sorry for your family – not you.

I was told that your have been banned from many forums and now I can see why. Disgusting you are. No need to reply to me cause I won’t be answering you statements.

Now, off to do some gardening!

Your imaginary garden that you refuse to post pictures of? Who told you have been banned from forums? You aren’t fooling me here, I know who you are, and the sooner you move on from here, the better, as you aren’t here to garden at all.

Am sure others must be wondering why it seems you are the only one that hasn’t been bothered to post a pic of your garden, but always have something to say about others. My family and I are just fine, and all I can say is that am glad I don’t have to live with you, work with you or associate with you.

You just can’t seem to stay away from me can you? The more you continue to make my business yours, the more rude words you are going to have coming your way.

Notice how am not like that with anyone else on here, but YOU!

Either sold out or they have no red in them

Would any one know where I can get then? or would I be better off waiting til next Spring to purchase?

Always wanted to grow sunflowers but didn’t have the sun requirements at the old place and here, don’t have the room … so I have to enjoy them in other’s gardens. My Coneflowers sound about where yours are. Just waiting for some white flowers. The anticipation of the flowers as they bloom is wonderful and at the same time … building my patience levels … hahahaha!!!

Hope you post pics of those sunflowers for sure … and your Coneflowers too. I’ll snap a pic of my Coneflowers too once they bloom. And “B”, I did go out this afternoon and snap a few photos of my circle garden with the Gaillardia’s—so I’ll post them after hubby gets home. :-)

I have sunflowers growing right out of my @$$, if I eat sourkroat then I literally blow flowers around….........the birds arent the only planters.

seriously….........I feed birds, they eat the seeds, they fly, crap and some of those seeds grow.

no shortage of sunflowers here, they literally grow up in places people around here thought the sun never showed its face.
