Topic tags/keywords: 2015 spring

The temperatures are much warmer ( 11 degrees C ), albeit damp. We have snowdrops in bloom in the side garden.

I have my dahlias started now (some are showing green sprouts already), and have cut back my over-wintered pelargonium plants. They should be good by planting out time – this year I am thinking early June (delayed because of the record breaking COLD winter we’ve had)

One of these days, I have to get down into the bush to cut up all the tree tops I lost during the ice storm earlier this winter. That should take me a couple of days, and maybe a few gallons of chain oil and a few chains).

I am also eying changing my lower pond set up, so I don’t have to go so far to see the water. Golly, I am getting lazy in my retirement years. LOL

I have ordered parts to make a propagating machine so I can more readily and more successfully propagate my hibiscus plants with trimmings from the mother plants.

Ah, Spring is in the air today. I’m looking forward to getting out and starting to dig in the dirt.

Jroot I am waiting to see what type of propagating machine you are going to build. Nice to know spring has arrived and you must have given a sigh of relief. I am looking forward to see pictures of hibiscus you wanted to post and other ones from your garden. Pl use photo bucket and load your pictures.

I did some Spring pruning and raking. I’m going to hurt tomorrow because as usual, I overdid it.

Sharad, I am still waiting for parts for my machine. I ordered them from China ... better price … takes a long long time.

Erika, I still have more pruning to do. I got some new large pruners the other day. When I was cutting up a fallen tree last week, my old pruners broke. Too much work, I guess. The sore back attested to that as well. LOL

I got the parts, put the machine together, and have it working. Not sure if it is going to work as well as I hoped though. Time will tell.
