Yes, we need a good day filled with a slow, steady soaking rain. Me, I love all the flowering trees … just gorgeous now. -- "A perfect garden is just a garden to be in-perfection. Mornings to work on it and evenings to pause and look at it." Southeast Michigan, Zone 5a/5b |

Wonderful time of year CG …especially in the 5b zone. We could do with a gentle rainfall. I have little “yellow fleurs” in the lawn ….and so early! Will give a mix of vinegar and water a try. Yep, busy time for so many and less than a month before the 24th! GrandmaT The flowering trees in this area are just now breaking out. I lack trees but can enjoy the others in the area. -- blooz 5b - You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt. ~author unkown |

Cannot let this happen Bunting. Straight vinegar it is! Some of ‘em are giant dandies too. Thanks for the tip. -- blooz 5b - You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt. ~author unkown |

Vinegar? Never heard of that. Gonna have to give that a try. Thought I had dug out all my dandies over the course of the summer … guess I missed a few. Do you EVER really get rid of them?!!! LOL!!!!! I’d say 99% of our trees here have budded out. Neighborhood is looking “green” already. It is wonderful!!! And, though I am not good with flowering tree names … they all seem to be in full bloom now. Now mind you Blooz, none in my yard … like you … I have to walk a bit or drive to enjoy the flowering trees. OHHHHH, I mowed the yard for the first time today!!! Loved it, but hmmmm, body is complaining a bit. I have this really cool lawnmower, it keeps pace with ME … anywho; summer is on it’s way when you hear lawnmowers. :-) Ahhhhh, love this time of year. -- "A perfect garden is just a garden to be in-perfection. our area is turning green as well. Hopefully our “0C” nights this week aren’t going to hurt anything too much. -- - Debbie, SW Ontario Canada (USDA Hardiness Zone: 5a) |

trees and shrubs here are just starting to show a nice pale fuzz of green. Unfortunately that means my 4 big poplars are dropping their nasty seed streamers all over everwhere and everything. They look nasty enough out in the yard, but they’re such a royal pain when they get tracked in onto the carpet! On a happier note, the “mystery mix” of tulips I planted last fall are blooming nicely. I got purple ones! Yay!, along with the reds. -- the day you quit learning is the day you quit living. |
