I started introducing my plants started from seeds under growlights in the basement to the elements last month, and as the weather got better the past couple of weeks, they spent more time outside on the front porch, and it has become their permanent home now

Cleopatra cannas

brugs started from cuttings, castor bean plants, daturas and more cannas

New look front flower bed

Giant Elephant Ears ( colocasia esculenta ) planted here, in front of that are 3 giant ornamental grasses

I’ll say it again – you are going to have a yard that is the envy of the neighbourhood!!!

Watch the weather for the next few days, it’s supposed to go to -1C one night this week

Thanks folks! I couldn’t believe the price a garden centre was charging for a plant of castor bean that is about the size of one of mine in the pics above, $8.

I don’t know how they worked that one out, considering I bought 25 seeds off ebay for $2.50. I am monitoring the weather, and I was out there this morning seeding my lawn ( what is left of it ), and I put a bucket over the elephant ears to stop it from getting suggy
