Sea-buckthorn is native to Europe/Asia regions.

According to Wikipedia they are tolerant of salt in the air and soil…. perhaps this would make a great roadside border for those of us in northern climates where salt is used on the roads in the winter months.

It seems that the bush is hardy from zones 3 – 7.
