yes… make sure you add the tag “bromeliads” to your posts.
(go to the blog, click the red “edit” button, top right corner) and then scroll down to the “tags” section.)

perfect, thanks Debbie. I went and checked on all my (few) entries and made sure the tags are added. since I am the tropical girl, my plants won’t be the mainstream, orchids, bromeliads, gingers, passifloras, ferns, but still worth tagging :)

that took me a little bit of detective work …. you have a typo in the tag “smooth gourd”.

I’ve added a new gateway for: “Gourd, Squash, Melon”. You might also want to add the single word tag to your projects for your bitter melons etc … that way they will show up in the master list. I thought that the list would get too long if I started adding individual varieties.

Sharad, I thought you would like to know that I have planted the seeds you sent, and several of them are sprouting forth. The comment above about the smooth gourd reminded me to tell you that I have several smooth gourd seedlings up already. Maybe I planted them too soon, but I will transplant them to a large pot. They might end up being container grown.

Jroot, I had noted earlier that you have planted smooth gourd seeds sent by me and I hope they will come up well under your care and favorable climate. Pl keep me informed about their progress and add pictures when you think right. When planted outside it will need vertical and horizontal supports to climb and spread. The horizontal supports can be fairly strong strings to support the weight of the gourds.

I realize this is an older thread, but I have a suggestion that would help all of us brown thumbs who don’t know as much the green thumbs. One of my biggest problems is finding plants for different parts of the yard. A category for shade loving plants and full sun and partial shade/partial sun plants would be a big help. I know this would help me when choosing plants for the yard.
