I have few rhizomes of ginger. Some have green eyes, one has sprouted. Which way do I plant it? The sprout is about 2” long – is this a root or a sprout???

The green is a shoot, plant it facing up. I’ve grown ginger inside in planters, I generally just throw it in a pot and lightly cover with soil…shoots always tend to find their way up.
