What are you doing for Earth Hour?

Right after I type this message, I’m going to go out and bring in my WS plants that have sprouted as a COLD night is predicted here. The peas are up, the radishes are up, but so are some of my annual flowers. I’m not too certain how hardy they are.

Tonight, we are having some neighbours in for dinner. I have candles placed all over the house, and at the appointed hour, all lights are being shut off … by timer. That should surprise the guests. LOL

Homemade mushroom and leek soup, freshly baked homemade buns slightly broiled with fresh cheese, Gail’s fabulous surprise salad, prime rib roast, potatoes cardinal, asparagus, carrots, snow peas, peach & pecan upside down cake, chocolate / pecan squares, of course some liquid refreshment. LOL

Great way to celebrate Earth Hour with friends.

oh Jroot—my invitation didn’t arrive!!!! :)
that sounds WONDERFUL. What a great idea to have guests over for the event—and the evil timer idea. Ha! good one.

I’ll be zz-zzz-zzz-ing I’m sure. I’ve had a busy week and weather-pressure-headache all day. So I’ll be turning my own “lights out” :)

MsDeb, you stole my line…...”my invitation must have got lost in the mail” LOL

Sounds like you have a great Earth Hour planned, jroot. I know you’ll have an enjoyable time.

Sorry to hear your not feeling well, MsDeb. It’s a good night for an ‘early night’.

wow jroot i once did that too , had 12 guests over for late dinner, at 9.oo while we were having dessert all the lights went off, it was so funny but once the candles were lit it was magic, everyone loved it…we now do it a few times every spring and summers…

What a difference in culture. Here we would have lighted the candles when the guests arrive. We go from Darkness to Light.
Enjoy your dinner programme and send us a few pictures. The menu is fantastic.
