Topic tags/keywords: palm tree orchids paradise

OK I have a piece of property that I will never get rid of. I am planning on starting a tropical paradise and have a lot of work to prepare it. I am addicted to growing rare palm trees so this is going to be the home for lots of my seedlings when the reach a decent size. I also have found several colonies of wild Florida orchids Encyclia tampensis or Butterfly orchids growing on old live oak trees. So I am also going to start growing different orchids in the tree canopies. These are some of the ideas I have so far. Here are some photos and I have a little guided tour on my blog if you want to see more here is the link My Yard in Ft Pierce FL . If any of you have more suggestions please throw them out there. This will be a forever ongoing project.

Oh WOW..I’m envious, I don’t blame you for “never getting rid” of that beautiful spot. I don’t know if I would want to change a thing…Lucky you.

I have a sister in Miami and when ever down in those parts I always take a few days to visit the gardens from boat and car. Your right, it’s near paradise

There was always 1 gator in here as I was growing up. I watch it grow from a 5ft gator to 10ft or maybe more thru the years. I have not seen it lately. During the afternoon she would crawl up across the water were the land is a little lower and sun bathe. I keep popping over there to try and snap a shot of her but I have been unsuccessful. She might have moved on.
