Topic tags/keywords: paintings flowers

It has taken me quite a while to get painting again. Years ago i worked with acrylic paint but became allergic and have been dabbling in creating a “natural” paint which does not cause me any reactions. I think I finally have a good recipe using organic olive oil and some pigments but using a technique much like watercolors. Adding a bit of color to these gray and white days brightens my days….now how to frame them?

Beautiful, XO. If you have time, I would enjoy reading about how you made the paints, too. I agree with Debbie. A simple, natural frame would compliment their beauty.

Very fine, XO. I am green with envy. I, too, used to paint, and determined to get back to it when I retired. So far I just look and dream, and admire someone else’s creativity. You have a wonderful talent, I love the vibrant colours. However you frame them they’ll be lovely. If you lack space to hang them, I volunteer one of my walls. :-)

Very nice, X. I’m truly impressed that you mix your own paint. Perhaps my wife could benefit from learning your formula.

Greenthumb, do you have any photos of your art work? We already know that you have a good artistic eye. We’d love to see.

I second that, would love to see.

Just bees wax and mineral pigments together, pencil it on the paper and blend with brushes dipped in olive oil…must be careful not to saturate the paper…I’m using watercolor paper and as you can see in the blue painting, the top right corner got a wee saturated causing the paper to become a little translucent. I may try this on a fine canvas or cotton rag paper.
