I never felt myself a teacher until the grandson arrived. So full of questions I had to make up answers. <g>
To get a bit of family involvement in my hobby I helped my favorite people make a bird house.

Cheers
Bob

Cute and quite lovely …

Yes, grandchildren’s favorite word … “WHY” -vbg-

That’s quite a birdhouse for a grandson project. Most are those standard slap togethers that just take a few nails. This one, is much more of an accomplishment. ;)

Thanks for the comments.
Both my grandson and my wife expressed interest in doing a project in my shop so they came up witht he birdhouse idea. Greenthumb,I cut out the roof parts for them and lined up the holes for the entrance and the rest they pretty much did them sleeves with a bit of guidance from me.
Both are now more appreciative of what happens in the shop and aware of some of the tools needed to make things.

This year we shall see if your efforts are rewarded with birdies.

There is no better way than “hands on” to learn and appreciate the work done!

”Both are now more appreciative of what happens in the shop and aware of some of the tools needed to make things.”

I’ve been whinning about a vacumn press for years, done walk throughs with two part presses making curved parts, picture tutorials of how a VP makes 2 weeks work into a few days….......deal ears, blind eyes.

I helped a friend sell his “outdoor” forklift and he gave me a VP.

So Bob, what tool might she let you purchase?

I kinna tell a lie.
I started her of on my old 14” bandsaw and a week later…

I have my eye on a new 8” planer so I will let her use my jack plane on the next job. <insert>

Let’s see…the woodshop closes in winter (no heat), there’s presently a ping pong table, a few sheets of plywood, and a ton of construction scrap from my master bedroom reno project. It usually takes an entire weekend to get the shop back in action after winter, and it’s definitely time (now!).
