This is a candle holder we bring out to the patio for citronella candles. It is made from maple with roasted maple inserts and legs ,the doweling is cherry wood and is made on a router jig.
That is really nice! I am pretty close to as amateur as you can get in wood working without not having done it at all, so I’d ask if there are any plans out there for something small and simple like that so I can get my feet wet. I have wanted to get into woodworking for a while and do little things (a seed rack and potting bench, but they didn’t require a lot of expertise to do..)
Steve Woodworking is straight forward and with today’s modern tools which are very affordable its easy to get into and very rewarding. Just look at the pics and make your own plan by scaling it,or come up with your own design which I do as I see too many copies from woodworking mags, it’ gets boring. Look for a local woodworking club and you will find many helpful guys and gals to get you started.
I like the originality in your designs. Are you a member of the sister site LJ ?
