This all started when my father went to Norway, Finland, and Sweden and brought back this troll.

My elder sister has been too kind to me over the years and she started whinning, almost begging to have one and so this venture began which is almost an addiction. .....there are worse addictions! I went out to try and buy a troll for her for Christmas.
Did you know that there are some out there, that believe only the Finish, Swedes and Norwiegians can make a troll?.........I beg to differ and if you “Google” in an attempt to buy one you might tend to side on that belief cause they just dont exist on this side of the pond…...........till now
On Christmas day, several years back my sister opened a gift that I created, that made her cry. I love making people cry at Christmas, and not a sad cry, but an overwhelming feeling of joy that beckons tears to eyes. I apologize for the crappy picture but its all I have. This little drunken troll is heading home to his mate with saggy forlorn looking flowers, some where along the way he lost his drawers. My sister is somewhat a prude in a good way and at first she didnt notice that this fells underwear were gone…....he no longer stands above “eye level”.

I made the next one for her too but she never got it. Before my out laws moved in, my MIL would alsways come over and search this little lady troll out, she would always ask how she was, she just seemed to love this little lady so sadly, Mr and Mrs Troll have seperated, seems Mr Troll got smashed for the last time while on her watch. My MIL got it for Christmas and go figure….....she shed a tear too

So the family of trolls that emigrated from across the pond began and made more trolls. One of which became a carpenter. legend would have it that he graces the fireplace area of perhaps the best carpenter in these parts, some might even say he is related to the owner because they look alike ?..or at least share some of the same mannerisms. ( a certain contractor who at one time gave me a lot of work got this as a thank you from me) From the worn boots

to the saggy pants complete with plumbers bum

hammer in hand

My little photo shows the Santa Troll and he comes towing his lovely drunken wife while she tips back a jug of XXX and smokes a cigar, in his sled…......latern held up high. ...........on the back of the sled is printed “I Hate My Job”

Thus began a collection of my daughters where she gets a new one every year for Christmas.

Not to bore you, the one at the top is presently under surgery. Another Santa Troll, with elf attatched and bag of magic, bird in the toque. The one on the far left is my Ski Troll. I gave this to friend last Christmas as he has been a fine friend to me and my daughter as well as my mentor and one of the best clients I have ever known. He is an avid and accomplished snow skier and this little fella sums up how quickly a mountian can humble both men and women and troll
Cheers

Wow … awesome craftmanship!!! I love that just by looking at each one you can envision a wonderful story that goes with them. You certainly have an eye for detail.
