garden sign? garden sign? garden sign? Click the pictures to enlarge them

garden theme sign with all those maple leaves, fields, stone, flowers and crops?

I was thinking of it as a shadow box with sign set back into that frame to permit puppets to interact between sign and frame….......?

good idea gone bad?

thoughts?

a partial colour theme?

Love the sign … did you make it? Not sure about the puppets … what would they accomplish, or am I just totally missing the “boat here”??!! Wouldn’t be the first time …

And most definitely it would make a gorgeous garden theme sign … such beautiful carving and detail. Wow.

this is gorgeous and amazing.. the overhanging leaves—amazing.
I can’t imagine the puppets – I need a picture/video…

I can’t wait to see the finished sign!!

Yes I made it or “making it”. Still have to make a few applied Hosta leaves, maybe applied clematis leaves and flowers, then prime it, stain and paint it all. I’m going to paint the maple leaves in fall colours. The “fiieldstone” is on a stone bridge with open sky and fields under it, “meadows” on a flag banner,........

It might get put into that frame recessed back 2 feet and become part of an outside post and beam wall on the up coming home show. The puppets would play between the wall, and the sign would be the back of the puppet show

Thoughts?

Thanks for the kind words

ooooh the back of a puppet show .. that sounds interesting!

so it could serve a dual purpose.. a signage AND a show.. Cool

It is stunning… a lot of skill and creativity involved. Beautiful

I don’t know, I think the “jury” is still out for me with the puppets. BUT, that sign is just GORGEOUS!!! To think that it is this beautiful and not finished yet. I am sure it will take all our breaths away when done.

You have some awesome woodworking skills Greenthumb!!!

imagine

two puppets sitting motionless amogst the passing crowds when a little kid looks at one of them and the puppet winks, says “Hello” then freezes

and imagine the comments a puppet can get away with when engaging in conversation

thanks for the kind words

Yes, I can see that … lots of giggles and laughter for sure!!! Maybe the jury has just come “in” for the puppets.

Wait … are those new pictures … I didn’t notice color last time, but that doesn’t mean anything … cuz I am “old” ... oh well … I am enjoying those 3 that are posted. Can’t get over how gorgeous this sign is already.

tanks !!!

the leaves on both corners will be applied after the sign is done, painted and in the timber “frame”, that way I can have the leaves slightly over hang the frame, it will/should soften the transition from sign to frame.

Love the sign..at first I was with GrandmaT on the puppets, but now that you’ve explained it so well, I think the puppets will go over very well! Very creative!

That’s a rather nice sigh.. Should make a few “general” ones, turn it into a mold and cast them in concrete.

Love to see the finished product as well. :)
