A private spa for my family

Project by benjireyes posted 214 days ago 1167 views 1 time favorited 15 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I designed and built this small paradise of a SPA at the back of our home for the three girls in my life.. ( my loving wife and my two precious daughters) It has everything they would look for in a Spa plus more. We live in the Hills of Antipolo, Philippines and the back of my property is home to a magnificent forest which is also home to beautiful butterflies and birds. It also has a natural creek at the bottom. You can view this on the cantilevered deck. The gazebo is an old ifugao hut from the rice terraces. It was built using no nails but all mortise & tenon and lashed with twines by the natives up North. All these done by hand. I planted varieties of bamboo around the area and built a meandering walkway towards the guest room, jacuzzi, massage area and Sauna. The walkway is lined with blue LED lights at night which high-lites the pathway. The whole area is covered with white pebbles. The large bromeliad. Is called emperialis. I tried to create a filipino zen feeling for the landscape, minimalist and making use of local indigenous materials. I wished I could post more photos to share with the GT community. Your comments are appreciated.

That is the most beautiful place I’ve seen, so serene. I’ve always dreamed of a warm place with grass roofs and a paradise much like you have created. Kudos for such magnificent work.

Really very nice. I want to come and spend a few months there. LOL

Nice plantings professionally done. Congratulations.

I love the thatched roof on the palapa. I wish that I could have one here to remind me of all the good times we have had in Puerto Vallarta.

Oh my! Isn’t that nice!
Count me in, MsDeb. Just name the time and place.

All kidding aside, Benjireyes, you have created a beautiful spa.

@Paradisespa Yes, this is Antipolo. The view past the hills is Laguna de bay.
