Rock Mountain

Project by Dale & Vicki Struhar posted 293 days ago 1240 views 1 time favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

As I believe I mentioned before I retired in 2004 I took Bonsai design and plant care. I needed to relax and do something to help me have more patience. It worked.

With this in mind I took to miniature plants. So I made a Rock Mountain.

All the plants are either miniature or dwarf plants.

Beautiful gazebo. It reminds me of one that I built at my last house – all screened in, but large enough for a sit down dinner for 6. I loved that one. I didn’t have miniature plants, but rather quite large plants around it, so the gazebo was shrunken into the perennial bed.

Your idea of the bonsai is fascinating. There is a LOT of work involved patience involved, but it pays off in the long run. I have seen some fascinating bonsai plants many hundreds of years old.

Thanks for sharing.

Very beautiful and interesting. I would enjoy seeing pictures of this bonsai/rock garden as it progresses and the way it looks in different seasons. Nice job.

A very fascinating idea of a rock garden and bonsai. It offers the flexibility of changing the arrangement when you wish. Very good photos.
