Ok, here it is the end of June!! Where did this month go. :-(
Starting with the zoom pictures…..................................................
#1..The east border.
#2..My little veg. garden.
#3..Looking across the backyard.
#4..The hosta corner.
As we have mentioned bf, the gardens are ever-changing. For instance in this picture, you can see at the beginning of the month the predominate flower was the iris with the little lilac.
This is the same scene, taken this morning.
The gardens in front of the house are full of colour with the end of the peonys, yellow loosestrife and missouri primrose, oriental and day lillys have started to bloom. Feverfew with it’s lime green foliage and sparking white flowers stands out nicely. Even some sedum is beginning to show up. While some of the later annuals have not started to bloom noticeably yet you can see some of the fern-like foliage.
East side of the front deck….....................................................................................................
The jackmanii clematis has just started to bloom…............................................................................
I’m afraid the page is going totime out on me so I’m going to post this much and I’ll try and add more later.
This following picture is the front corner, which had a variety of iris at the beginning of the month, now full of pink/lilac poppies.
The garden on the west side of the house has gone from many iris to delphs, pale pink rose, pink and orange oriental lilys, lady’s mantle, maltese cross(bright red) and the flowering mock orange with the heavenly scent.
Here is a little spot where there is a red carpet rose, missouri primrose coming through the fence, viola in the front and feverfew showing up again. You can see the beginning of the heavenly blue morning glories just starting their winding up the towards the arbor.
One last look at the little gem…...........................................................................................
The next two pictures are the last of the iris…...............................................................................
I love these ‘crazy daisy’ shastas with the ‘goblin’ gaillardia, and a pretty little lollipop lily in the corner….

Thanks Cynthia. I do enjoy my gardens….spend most of my daytime hours out there. But today is raining so here I am showing off the pictures I took this morning for the end of June. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing them…....there are a few more to add yet. :-)

Wow, indeed ! Beautiful gardens and lovely shots. That clematis is magnificent. And your iris are beautiful – just like the photographer, no doubt :)
I can’t believe just how much ahead of mine that your gardens are. My poppies are budding up, but none are open yet. Amazing !

Actually, come by my place and give me a hand.. My goal is to fill everything out like you’re got. No beds less than 2’ deep..
So much work.. Ugh..

Iris, your gardens are beautiful. All the flowers looks so healthy, colorful and you have such a wonderful variety. It is no surprise that you are able to get such good photos of insects and birds; you have created a wonderful habitat for them. It is very nice to look at these photos, especially when there is snow outside.

Thanks for your kind comments. February is a great month to review some of these summer postings. :-) Not only do the pictures help to remind us of the warmth and colour of last summer, but they also remind us the summer will come again!
Another reason to review, is the presence of the seed catalogs coming daily in our mail. And the stores are now gearing up for the season with seeds and equipment to get you started. It’s too early for me to start seeds indoor, (I don’t have a GH) but I can still dream…...................

I’ve got the itch. From now until planting time it’s all about fighting the urge to put some seeds in some dirt…
