Wanting/needing to connect my trees, to make it easier to cut the grass, I have started to slowly add little flowerbeds here and there.
This bed connects my Osage Orange tree and an English Chestnut tree. I have transplanted two Japanese Maples into this spot, providing them with a little shade. I have also spread white clover seed over the new beds to, hopefully, hold back the weeds until I can get some flowers etc planted. (probably next year’s project).
Now, to my art!
The Osage Orange tree (in the first picture) has really nasty thorns on it. Under this tree I have placed a sculpture of a guy jumping some hurdles. The symbolism, I thought, was that he is overcoming barriers that are like thorns along one’s path.
Behind the tree I have placed a metal fence, helping to contain the area and keep passersby from getting too close to the tree.
Between the two Maples (in the second picture) I have placed these two pieces of art. I’ll let the viewer create his/her own interpretation of these pieces.
And what are these pieces of art? The fence and the “whatevers” are the old grates and burners from our barbeque. Rather than just tossing them into the garbage I thought they would make great additions to the garden. I like a little intrigue!! And, I am a hoarder, you know!

Thats a cool garden statue but Ms Debbie deer love clover and given your love of the clever deer finding the nuts in your yard. LOL Maybe white clover isnt on the deer salad list but most clover is. I have a purple clover field and the deer and elk love it. Anyways your garden makes me want to get back out in mine. Yours always Rog

I love the sculpture of the leaping guy. He looks right at home there. Very creative, MsDeb, and makes very evident your sense of humour. Love it!

thanks everyone.
As for the clover, we have lots of clover throughout our yard so I hope my patches of clover won’t make a difference.

I love unique pieces in the garden and if they’re repurposed and saved from the landfill it’s even better! I really like what you’re doing MsDebbie. Your gardens have so much personality.
