Interested in building a simple bubbling container waterfeature for your garden? Read more about my experience building one earlier in the summer of 2007. Definitely, it was worth the effort!

haha great story :)
the pitcher plant: is it just floating in the water or is it in a pot inside the pot…
(we named our fish #1 and #2… #1’s nickname became JeanLuc (Picard as in Star Trek)

the plants are all in pots, covered with stones to hide the pots. Well, except for the water hyacinth and duck weed..those float pot-less.
(I have an indoor fish and dwarf mondo grass garden. That fish is named “kitty treat” as he provides all-day entertainment for my lazy, fat indoor cat.)

Are those both S. x ‘Judith Hindle’? Wait til they start throwing out the side growth, my plants trippled the amount of growth points in one season, and thats a conservative guess hehe. Nice project though, I think if I can ever get the patio done in the backyard I’ll have to do something simular!
Thanks
Sib ;)

one is ‘Judith’. The other clearly isn’t, but I’m not sure what it was. I say “was” because it died rapidly. ‘Judith’ seems more tolerant of having a wet crown. She’s overwintering in my NE kitchen window.

Hard to tell from that picture but it looks like it could be a judith aswell, I have 4? maybe 5? 2 spent the entire year like the more coloured one, the others spent most of it like the one that died, only in the fall did they colour up. Not sure about who you got it from but it could have been fertilizer weakend?

I do think my two were slightly different cultivars/varieties. I doubt the slight difference in flower color was due to a fertilizer issue.
