Gabebo Roof

Another stage of our Gazebo is complete!

We now have an official roof—no more tarps.
And it looks beautiful. Way to go, Rick!

(ignore the “stuff”. I was in a hurry to celebrate the roof and took the pix before clean-up).

The gabebo roof is really nice.. How much did the metal run you, and moreover, how did you attach it?

the roof was really expensive!
The neighbour is rebuilding his garage. Rick has been helping out – and so our neighbour gave him a few extra pieces. So it was FREE (except for a little physical labour)
It is attached with some expensive screws. Now that did cost us a bit. About $60 but we will have tons of screws left over.

Joe says “it’s a lovely shanty”. He’s so sweet and supportive eh?

The roof does look great. Hooray for the end of tarps!

Great job on the roof. How did you decorate in the gazebo? More pictures, please.

just some benches inside so far. I’m waiting until the walls are covered before i focus on inside. I do have some knicknacks inside but they keep falling off the little shelves because of hammering.

Greenthumb—you are too funny. Actually, I had thought of that for a very brief moment :)

I know! I know!! :)

I had to look up “shanty” just for fun: A roughly built, often ramshackle cabin; a shack.

I think I’ll make a sign for the front: “Joey’s Shanty”

A bright red roof would be fantastic! You have to paint the roof a nice bright colour for sure. Maybe blue. Are the outside walls going to be your summer project?

This looks like a little house in the woods. Minus the woods.

Looking great Debbie.

I do like the Redneck lights.

roof colour: I think we’ll be sticking to the brown.

Outside walls: I’d like to get them done before Rick starts at Cargill this month. But, the weather will have a LOT to do with that.

Cynthia: I’ll post some more pictures once I can get my fountain outside and we get some more yard cleaned up. Right now the “shanty” is storing some equipment.

thanks Gram.
Yes, it is fun. I don’t think it would have been so much fun if it had been put together in one weekend. And to think – it all began with a purchased cloth-gazebo

Well I can only imagine MsDeb … cuz I know I have gotten a lot of joy hearing your stories and seeing the photos of the progress. I think you and I are alike in a lot of ways … I know for me, with adding improvements each year, the whole place would become new again and add such excitement … :-)
