Thought there might be some out there still wondering about bamboo barrier. Here's a detailed post on installing bamboo properly.
Enjoy!

Interesting installation. How long have you tested this? My dad planted bamboo many, many years ago and had built a concrete trench. The bamboo eventually pierced it’s way through and he had a heck of a time chasing down the rhiszomes to remove. This was in a very small space and he didn’t want to dig up the pathway and steps to get to this but eventually had to.

I had wondered how deep you had to barrier. Now I know. Way too deep for me!

mmh—I learned about the barrier system from someone who has been using it for at least a decade. Myself, I’ve used it for several years now. Concrete, as you mentioned, (and asphalt) are not a long-term solution. I’ve seen it bust through both, too!
