My Seed Box My Seed Box My Seed Box Click the pictures to enlarge them

This is the first year that I have ever collected seed or traded seeds. It has been both fun and a little nerve-wracking; as I worried about making sure I was ACTUALLY collecting seed!! LOL!!!

As my seeds dried and I received packets from my various friends here at GT; I was a little worried where I might safely store them untill the time arrives to begin sowing them.

I mentioned to Hubby (Russel as you all know, since he has joined us) my dilemna and asked if he might make me a Seed Box. Now Russel makes the most beautiful boxes. They come in all sizes, designs and different woods.

So here is my beautiful Seed Box … It is made of Walnut (bottom) and Bird’s Eye Maple (lid). You will notice that the bottom of the box looks like it has crown molding going around it, but in reality that is called Sap Wood.

I think my seeds are in a happy place … I know I am!!! Thanks sweetie!!!

What a beautiful seed box! Lucky you, that you have such a talented hubby and who appreciates your talent for gardening. That treasure, I’m sure will find a prominent place for display in your home. Good luck with harvesting the seeds to go in it. :)

BTW GranT, I received your message and your seeds will be in the mail tomorrow.

What a great idea. Keeps them nice and dry, but not parched. Good one, Russel.
