Built these lamps 12-15 years ago out of discarded milk cans and old oil lamps. So far I’ve replaced only one oil lamp and maybe a dozen bulbs. A mistake here was using chandelier bulbs…the glass was cast thin for indoor use so they tend to “pop” when its very cold. Not a big deal though, but I would suggest using better “outdoor” rated bulbs for yours. And yes, they’re wired for 120vac and on a dimmer so you can set the ambience. I’ve also placed my outdoor house lamps on a dimmer as well. These all really look cool when dimmed to a candle flame intensity. Oh, and they’re 60 watt bulbs so they can really light up the walkway if needed.
Another cool scene is in the winter. They light up the snowbanks real well. I’ve even seen them under a foot of snow…that’s a bunch.

I really like these. I am a former drama guy, and this looks like something I might have done on a set. It is really cool that you have them working in a snow bank as well. I like it. Ambience is the key word here.
