Oh, Deer!

I love visiting deer on my property here in the country and I didn’t want to do anything that would discourage that. But I wanted to keep them from feasting on my fruit trees and veggies. I also didn’t want to use anything that would harm them – just keep them from my ripening fruits.
I got the idea while opening a can of

It worked and my pears are getting near harvest time!

Kippered Herrings! I took the lid, made some cuts with a tin snip and also tied some obsolete CD’s and and hung them around my pears and water melons hoping that they would discourage deer and wild bunnies from munching on them. Their constant movement and flashing reflection from the sun did the trick!
