Every morning I sit by the gazebo window seen in the pictures and look out at back yard. Just off the gazebo “deck” area is my special garden that I created this year.
The garden border is made up of 25 strawberry plants which should fill in quite nicely for next year. But for this year the centre of the front half of the “edible garden” is filled with cucumber plants, interspersed with some nasturtiums which are supposed to keep the pests away from my cukes. I have several cucumbers growing on the vines and have already munched on one of them! Yummy.
On the far side of the path that leads from the gazebo to the other half of this flower bed (which is mostly hostas, iris’ and fescue) are my pepper plants. Inadvertently, two tomato seedling plants some how ended up in with my peppers and haven’t minded being away from my vegetable garden. They are now doing quite nicely. There are several small peppers and tomatoes visible from my viewing window and they make me smile every day.
On the centre-right of the “edible garden” is a sign that says “hope”. When I put it there the plants were much smaller and I hoped that I would get some vegetables. My “hopes” are being fulfilled.

thanks GramT.
I never thought—I should have taken a picture from INSIDE the gazebo… maybe later today I’ll add another photo or perhaps a mini video.

you’re right Bon.
Right now I have peas, peas, and more peas (my priority of course) 2 bushes of red currants that are loaded… my blueberries which are just starting to turn and I don’t want to lose any that might ripen quickly.. and raspberries! What am I doing sitting here at my computer????
well, I did just put three more packages of peas in the freezer so I’m taking a break. lol OK back to work! or whatever you call working in the garden :)
