Old Rusty Wheelbarrow Old Rusty Wheelbarrow Old Rusty Wheelbarrow Click the pictures to enlarge them

Was sitting on my swing this afternoon enjoying some sunshine after attending to the lawn. Just swinging and thinking … that is when I normally get “in trouble” LOL!!! Cuz the brain is just going … hmmmmm, I could do this or that, add this, paint that; like I said “trouble”. Anyway, there is this spot in front of the garage that has been driving me crazy cuz it just so empty. Been pondering for a couple of weeks … what could I put there that would be substantial enough to make a statement. The last thing I need are any more hanging baskets and it needs to be unique.

Then it dawned on me … I brought over this old metal wheelbarrow from our old home when we moved. It is partly rusted out, at least 31 years old and was abandoned by the folk who had built our old home. To be honest, I am not sure why I brought it here. Well since I had created my side of the house Container Garden with odds and ends, I thought why couldn’t I put flowers in this old Wheelbarrow??!!! It is big enough to make the statement I want, fits in with my other “unique” items around the back/side yard. So here it is … my afternoon brainstorm/project.

LOL.. Thinking = bad.. ;)

Reminds me of the wheelbarrow that we had buried part way into the ground and planted lilies into the “spilled dirt”

Was kinda funny and just plain fun. :)

Yah, guess that did not come out right … Thinking=bad; but normally when I come up with an “idea” my husband cringes cuz that typically means I am spending $$$$ or he needs to help somehow; so that is where thinking=bad comes in; our joke. He says I should use my “powers for good” not “evil” ... hahahahahaha!!!!!

I like it Gran! And thinking always ends up causing more work, at least around here!

I think that’s the case anywhere.. Every time I use my brain, I end up using my arms, back, legs and whatever else it takes to either hammer, dig, chop or level something around the house.

Good thing we got this house as a fixer-upper. :)

Well thank you XO and Mike … and Mike, it is in the “Wife Handbook” (the book that every woman gets when she gets married – passed down from generation to generation), hmmmmmm page 34, I think … it says, it is the wife’s duty to keep her husband busy; that way he stays out of trouble. :-) And, the good Lord knows I keep my husband busy with my “hair scheme” ideas … good thing he loves me … LOL!!!!!

oh I need that book I completely agree with “it is the wife’s duty to keep her husband busy”...for whatever reason. hehehe

It reminds me of what Red Green said “If your wife don’t find you handsome she should at least find you handy”. LOL

lol I love the hourglass I idea. I can see a big business in the idea.

Typical conversation around here:
Me: I was thinking…
Rick: (holding his breath and possibly rolling his eyes…) Yes?
Me: (states idea)
Rick: Whatever you want, Debbie. Whatever you want.

:)

I’ll speak up only to say the following:

1) Great job on the project, G’maT! Now you can wheel your project around the yard to maximize the sunlight! LOL…

2) My “To-do” list is so long that the index of same looks like a phone book. My wife gives me regular updates in spiral bound form.
