Finally after what seams to be an eternaty, my first (of hopefully many) pitcher plant flower has opened! Once the petals began to droop it took a couple days for it to fully open like it is now. Nice rich red colour to, the flash alters it some.
I should also mention that big fat pitcher this plant also had is now open also. Looks like its the tip of the ice berg at this point… several of the flava flowers have begun to open, maybe by mid week I will have some more photos for you all. Looking like lots of yellows to be had.
I thought I’d also mention my new(ish) arivals. Last week I got 13 new varrieties of venus fly traps… Ones with long teeth, or giant traps, or bear traps, or red in colour, crossed teeth… quite a mix. I’ve started them off in pots, hopefully they’ll take well and I can move them outside. The growth really is great out there.
I’m also eager to see how some new pitcher plants I recieved this spring are going to look, I’m seeing the first pitchers now. Some of the highlights are a hybrid that has pitch black pitchers, another one the got over 1meter tall, white tops and reds, should be nice additions to the bog.
Thanks for reading!
Sib ;)

Thanks. Things are really getting going now. Looks like I’m in for pitchers double the size of last year so there will be lots of pictures once they are opening and colouring up.
Thanks
Sib ;)
