Hi, I am from Ga. and have been vegtable gardening since I was a kid. Now that I am married and with kids of my own I plant a small garden each year for fresh vegtables and the pleasure of watching somthing grow that I may have planted from seed.
I am 38 years old and on my 2nd and last marriage for a lifetime. I tell everyone I have the best wife any man could ever ask for! My kids are 10 and 6. They are great helpers in the garden.

Welcome to GT. We’d love to hear how the vegetable gardens are / were in your zone 8 area of GA. We can all learn from your experiences.

Yes, I would love to hear about your gardening experiences. Alot of us are in the “far north” ... most of us are putting our beds/gardens to rest for the upcoming winter. I am most curious as to what you have growing now … and do you plant right through “winter”?

Welcome once again David … !!! :-)

Thanks for the wonderfull welcome!! In the garden now is planted cabbage, lettuce, spinich, turnip greens, carrots, and onions. This about it for now and I am planning in to plant potatoes for the 1st time in January. Then about March I will plow the garden spot up and start thinking about what I want to plant for the summer. The ole timers say plant corn about the last 3 rd or 4 th week of March. Everything else on good Friday. Usually by Good Friday chances are there will be No more Frost. But with this weather you never know. Again Thanks for the invite and will try to have some pics soon. Thanks david

Yes, MsDebbieP, there are pros and cons for the various grow zones. While we, in Canada, may not enjoy the early start and late finish of the growing season, we don’t have the extreme heat which our friends to the south have. Pros and Cons.

Slick1970, we look forward to seeing the promised pics. :)

Beware of a kissvivi ( Lina ) private msg to online members! I have seen that there have been many complaints of her and I have reported it. I was at Ahhh when I read the msg and thought that did this person did not see that I am married and with 2 kids. Luckily my wife is finds me very trustworthy and respectfull and did not get the wrong idea when I showed her the msg. But for some other men on here their wife may not be as forgiven and trustworthy. So beware of private msg’s.
Happy Gardening
David

Kissvivi has been taken care of by the owners of the site. She/he/it has been removed from the site. Let us hope, permanently. Unfortunately, these wackos seem to find ways to infiltrate … and infuriate the members..

Hi David,

Thought I would answer your question that you asked me on my profile page … no I do not monitor the GT site nor am I part of the “administration here”. My husband who is a member here also got a PM from that spammer … you just have to ignore stuff like that. They only have power if you give it to them.

Our wonderful “tech guy” MBulla took care of removing all traces of kissvivi (as he mentioned in the spammers thread). That is the great thing about GT … the creators of this site care about it and us. And as “spammers” occassionally come and go; I have total faith the administration will take care of dealing with “them”.

Hope that alleviates you and your wife’s concerns … :-)

Here in Canada, we voted just recently, but we are quite interested in the US election, as it may directly affect our economy.
