This is how my terrace garden has taken shape this season. The rainy season is about to end and timely pruning, partial replenishing of soil, addition of fertilizers and control of harmful insects has resulted in a healthy plant growth, good looking flowers and vegetables. Some of vegetables are yet to bear fruit and I will post their pictures in the near future. As an additional activity I have started breeding Guppy fish. The aquarium tanks were constructed by me on my terrace and it was a very enjoyable work. More about guppy breeding on another blog or project.

The guppy waste water will make some great fertilizer for you your terrace plants.

Yes, I do use it for the purpose. Look at the flower of bottle gourd which opens only after the sunset. I have several of them now.

Look at the small bottle gourd that is now growing. I have several of them now and will provide me chance to try several recipes. The smooth gourd also has started fruiting giving my wife one more vegetable for the kitchen. The red variety of okra or lady’s finger is one more attraction. I am happy I am getting home grown vegetables for at least a couple of months from now.
