Coconut shell craft (30/3/15)

03-30-2015 02:48 PM by sharad | 1 comment »

Coconut shells are discarded or burnt as fuel after harvesting the cream and the water. I have used them in my wood working shop for making useful articles such as ladle, spoon and a tea cup. Please see my blog on coconut for more information on coconut. The shells are first dried in the sun, cleaned from inside and outside, cut to a proper shape and used for making articles of your choice. The shells are quite hard to work with and proper tools should be used. Any holes at the bottom are sealed with a dowel. The article is finished after sanding with linseed oil.
