This spring/summer I will be exploring Lasagna Gardening in my hard clay soil back yard here in Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario. Have you ever tried this method? I'd love to hear about it.

Also, I enjoy wildlife in the garden, but not skunks, especially when I suspect them nesting under my deck. How do you cope with the critters?

Hi GrandmaT,
Thanks for welcome. See you too in zone 5. We probably share the same type of plants in our gardens. Glad to be here on GT.

Hello and welcome!
You’ll really enjoy it here.

That tote/basket would make a lovely Easter basket for a gardening friend. I’ll have to see if I can’t copy it. :)

hi there :)
Welcome to GT

We’ve had a discussion here about lasagna gardening… I didn’t find the discussion, though, when I checked the “Tags” (see toolbar below)

Thanks so much everybody for the warm welcome! Following up on the links for lasagna gardening, thanks for finding them GrandmaT. I’ll have to get busy and take some photos to record my progress on this new experiment (for me) in gardening.

Welcome to GT, plantbuddy. I note that you are from Toronto. So is my son :) I also note that you are going to try some lasagna gardening. I am interested in this as well. A friend of mine did this in Burlington, ON, and she grows the most amazing flowers I have ever seen.

What is your favourite type of gardening? Feel free to jump right in to the discussions. Photos are always appreciated as they sometimes give a better concept than mere words. :)

Hi jroot, Appreciate the welcome. Speaking of photos, I’ve just installed a big photo slideshow on my blog, http://wateronceaweek.blogspot.com. Check it out. Most of the pics are from last spring and summer and a few are icy shots of Niagara Falls taken in February this year. Living in Canada all my life i’ve grown fond of ice and snow, but always glad to see it go come spring!
Favorite type of gardening…have to say it’s visiting and appreciating other peoples. It’s so nice to take a break from my own big lot—that’s why I’m looking into the lasagna idea, no more digging.
A big Hello to your son from me.
Will keep you all posted on my progress.

The message I got today was “The blog you were looking for was not found.” Is there another link to check out, plantbuddy?
