Nice to see ya on the GT map!!!! AND …
WOW!!! what a fantastic yard and just adorable house!! I absolutely love your front porch area. It is so welcoming. Makes ya just want to see more. Your gardens are so natural and full of healthy and beautiful plants. Love your use of hanging pots, repurposed items and”decorations” throughout the yard; making little niches. A fellow gardener “after my own heart”!! hehe!!
You can certainly tell you love to garden and have some wonderful knowlege to share! Well done Pigtail! Thanks for the tour, I really enjoyed it. :-)

I agree with GranT, and I noticed you have a couple of cute furry helpers. You’ve got some lovely gardens!

What beautiful gardens PT. You live in a lovely part of Ontario …....
Your home looks to be an historic home. Was it once stone. See many of this type in the Ott. Valley … very nice indeed.
Congrats again on your gardens …... all so lovely.

Thank You for all your comments! Yes my house has historic roots. It was built in 1850, its originally wood sided(batten board) the timbers are what anyone would see inside of a barn. Solid as a rock, but is being renovated slowly, still full of old lathe and plaster. What a nightmare, why it taking sooooo long to do. Our home was owned at one time by a famous booze runner, who buried over a million dollars somewhere. Here’s hoping I find it some day. Maybe it is hiding in one of my gardens. LOL. And as to my furry helpers there are 3 cats and 2 dogs. The cats help keep the birds out of my berry patch. And they are right beside me when I’m in the gardens, weeding is very funny I pull them out, they toss them back in. It a big game!!
I will post more photos when things start to bloom.

We have found a corset, an old newspaper clipping of the last hanging around here. Oh we did find a 1901 penny under a window sill.

Pretty cool things to have found … are you saving and then somehow gonna display what you “discovered” as you renovate? Make for some good stories, I am sure.
You are living one of our dreams … renovating an old house. We almost bought a historic home in a tiny town way north of where we are now in Michigan. But that was when the we only had one child (two more yet to come), we were young and full of energy. Those days are gone … haha!! So now I enjoy hearing about other folks “living the dream”. It is a lot of hard work, that is for sure.
You definitely got your hands full with maintaining such beautiful gardens and renovating. Hats off to ya!

Thanks for sharing, Pigtail. It has been a while since I was down in your neck of the woods. We used to have a friend in Wellington and Picton, but both have passed away ( at too young an age ). Nice area to live. .... and the real estate is reasonable compared to here.

I just came across your garden. I’m not that far from you, just to the north of Belleville.
Enjoy the day.
