Flea markets, garage sales, antique shops are good places for odd pieces … or pieces that can be repurposed. Your imagination can go “wild” in those places.
I am not sure what you are looking for, or what type of taste you have. Me, I like rustic, old … unusual. But that is not everyone’s “cup of tea”. Can you be a little more specific as to what you are looking for, where you would put things, what is the “look” you are going for??

Second hand stores, scrap yards, garbage day in your neighborhood!
As GranT says, unless you are a little more specific in what you want!!!

My taste is country, rustic, old and unusual things. Much like yourself. I need things to accent areas that are not in bloom and are just plain green. I have perennial beds all along my yard, across the back, down both sides, all around the house and the patio. I have alot of gardens to work with. Right now I have some driftwood that I gather up at Lake Ontario, which is only 1/4 of a mile up the road. Near my greenhouse that I built is a trellis, white wicker chair, and some pots of plants. On the front step I have a white wicker rocker, old sewing machine metal bottom with a bird house, lantern, old blue bottle and of course some more potted plants and oh yeah my bronze pig.(he is soooo cute) Its along my lilac hedge that runs the full length of my side property, it has perennial flowers that runs along it but it really needs something. help

Hi Pigtaill. Welcome to GT :)
It’s hard to help without seeing some pics of what you are working with.

Well it sounds like you are already on a good path for outside “decorating” ... seems like now you just need to be on the “hunt” for odd things to place randomly throughout your garden. Odd drift wood would be gorgeous … could also possibly bore (sp???) some holes big enough to put a few annuals in some of that wood.
Could even place pots, baskets or unusual containers within your gardens filled with colorful annuals to add interest as well.
If you like rustic, old and antique then you will just have to keep trying the garage sales, antique shops, metal/salvage yards, blacksmith/metal shop that sells his wares, odd little shops in town, etc. as mentioned above. Just have to use your imagination and keep your eyes open.
Your yard and gardens sound lovely and most inviting … I would love to see photos … :-)

Or you could go the junkyard route..
Get a nice engine block from a 350 Chevy, no head, no pistons, no manifold.. Chuck it in the yard and put plants in the cylinders so they drape over the side..
haha.. How’s that for creative? ;)
Just SCREAMS plant me! :)

lol @ Bon.. that’s funny.
Scott, that reminds me of a challenge I’m thinking of starting with my sister-in-law. When we are on our road trips we each buy something really bizarre and challenge the other person to create a “something special” out of it for their yard.
Of course, it could be a good challenge for GT as well… Everyone now has to run out and find an old engine block… lol

Hey Bon, I say GO FOR IT!!!! :-)
Actually if you could somehow remove the motor or adhere something on top of the motor to plant in or put a pot in … it could be the talk of the neighborhood. :-)
And I love the idea of that challenge … could be a LOT of fun!!!

Prop the hood open and put a pair of long narrow planting boxes in right on top of the innards. Plant them with something that’ll trail over the frame. Put a wicker basket planter on the seat. Or, better yet, if you can find one, put a scarecrow on the seat.

So many good ideas (lol) But I really think it should go to the scrap yard.My yard really isn’t big enough to display it.But then I could always move the milk can and put it there as a centre piece. ha ha ha

I say: take some part from the lawnmower and create a piece of art with it… maybe it’s the seat or the engine cover, or a wheel.. or or or or..
