I love tropicals. We have mostly banana trees and they (plus other tropical plants) took over one bedroom, part of the living room and the back porch. In late spring they all get evicted to the backyard, they grow and multiply then move back again and the house keeps shrinking. Angel's trumpets took over the laundry and parts of the porch. Helikonias rule the kitchen. At any time we half expect the cops to raid our humble and tiny adobe and arrest our bananas because our electricity consumption quadrupled in the past 3 years.
Are there any other tropicals lovers here in Ontario?

I love the tropical plants as well. I note that you have Angel Trumpets aka Brugmansia. Which ones do you have?

I have quite a few as well, and am faced with similar problems. We only have windows on three sides so that makes it even more of a challenge to house these beauties. Many of mine go dormant in the cold cellar for the winter, but some definitely have to be kept going during the winter. My wife gets upset when I take over some of her coveted space in her studio for plants. She didn’t mind last year, because she was working on a large brugmansia painting, but this year may be different. Maybe I’ll have to take over some of her exercise room. LOL
