no previous part Part 1 of Container Gardening Challenge series Part 2: An Interview with Brad Kemp - expert in Container Gardening »

As we mentioned in our Spring eMag, it’s time for a Container Gardening Challege. Show us your container garden and win a T-shirt. Since, I think it would be better to have it open for longer than only for one month, you can post your entries in May, June and July.

This is an opportunity to give something new a try. Take a risk, be creative, stick with some “tried and true” strategies. It doesn’t matter—just join in the fun.

Prizes

  • Three random winners will get GardenTenders T-shirt

How to Enter and Official Rules

  1. Just add your entry as the regular project and tag it with challenge03 (of course you may add any additional tags too):

Note that you don’t need to use ‘challenge03’ in your project title.
  2. Valid entry must be at least 300 characters long.
  3. The entry deadline is July 31st (CDT time).
  4. Random draw will be announced online at GardenTenders.com on August 2nd.

“Here are Related GT “Container” Discussions

Here's the page listing all of the submitted entries.

Let’s have fun!

thanks for the reminder

This is a challenge for me, for sure, because I don’t normally do “container” gardening.

Another fun project! I can hardly wait to get started, ideas popping through my head…....

MsDeb, here’s a chance for you to use some of those seeds you got from UF.

Thanks for this challenge as I am just a container gardener. Let me try my luck and win the T-shirt.

I kill things in pots…. In the ground, fine… In pots? They’re doomed…

Good luck to those who enter.. ;)

I’m really glad you made the challenge last till the end of Juy Michal. This gives everyone a good chance to have their flowers fully blooming by then.

I planted my WS peas into this container, and then added a little something upon which they could climb. It hides some of the hydro meters junk as well. I put in some nasturtiums as well. Maybe I’ll lput in some geraniums as well later on in the season. I certainly have enough of them – 8 flats.

Michal, you should list this under the contests tab. I saw jroot’s entry but couldn’t find the challenge and so I was a bit confused until I found this.

I was just wondering why the challenges are all random winners.I have more fun voting on the projects everyone enters.

I added the Container Gardening Challenge under the contests tab and link to all submited entries to the Announcement blog entry.
Bon: Challenge without voting makes it easier to enter, there is no need to have specific rules and it’s more popular.

make sure there is no space between “challenge” and “03” so your entry gets added to the list.

Pl make it clear what you mean by 300 characters. Do they include only the text describing the project? Are articles and colons excluded from the count? The count is with space or without space?

2 Sharad: The text describing the project should be at least 300 characters long and It is count with space as well. Projects with description around 280 characters will be allowed as well. I just don’t want contestants to post project only with pictures and without description.

Michal, in case I win the contest my T-shirt may pl be sent to the following address in US. Sandeep Nayyar, 24319 BEAR MOUNTAIN, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS782587251. I am 5’ 8’ tall and weigh 67Kg. So a medium size will suit me. I am sure you will like this clarification.
