New look of GardenTenders

Blog entry by Michal Bulla posted 111 days ago 631 reads 0 times favorited 16 comments Add to Favorites

As you can see GardenTenders website has new look which will help you to navigate on the site easier.

  1. Tabbed navigation with the highlighted current section
  2. All of the “my home, my…” links moved to just one drop-down menu that appears after clicking on the My GardenTenders button
  3. What’s Hot widget promoting the latest news (former announcements)
  4. Search bar displayed at the top
  5. Inverted colors on the main page title

Here’s the screenshot of the expanded MY navigation:

The design of the content elements remains the same at all so you should get used to this new look easily.

Enjoy!

I could swear that you all launched the new look already once before on here.. Hmm.. Maybe I’m just going nuts and getting GT confused with LJ..

Oh well.. It’s cleaner, I’ll give it that.

I also like the new look and how truly easy it is to use and navigate through … love how we are evolving!!!! Hey, one question though … what are “stickies”??

Thank you Buli and Martin!!!!

Looks great, guys…one minor bit of feedback on PM’s: it was a bit difficult to tell I had one. I knew I had one earlier due to my email notification, but to find the link in the menus was a bit tough.

Other than that, outstanding work!

Stickies are key discussions that we don’t want to get lost.
When we started the Seed Swap it could have been added to it. Over at LumberJocks we have about 10 pages that are key to the site (shop tours, for example)

Yup, like Debbie said, stickies are key discussions, so I’ve added Seed Swap to them. Enjoy!

if you have a private message there will be a notice in the centre / top of the page right next to the search.
To send a message or to look at old messages you go to your personal drop-down menu.

Is that what you were referring to D?

Yep, I found it, however my point is simply that it’s not quite as prominent as it used to be…still, wonderful update!

Very nice. Hey, would be nice if when looking at my buddies I had an easy option to add a buddy. As far as I can tell I have to be on a person’s page to then add them as a buddy. I don’t see an option to “add a new buddy” from my buddy view page. I can invite someone new, but that’s not the same, right?
