Today is the Day we were waiting for. Our successful GardenTenders Summer Awards are over, so let me officially announce the winners. This time it was very close. The difference between first and second place in the Sunny Sunflower category is only 1 point. On the second and third place there was a tie, so the second place is given to the member with more 1st place votes (see official rules).
The Retreat
1st Place – Two of our backyard retreats by Jroot (58 points)

2nd Place – My Pond by Mario1360 (51 points)

The winning entries are marvelous. Congratulations to all of you who entered. When I look at the photos of the bright, cheerful sunflowers in your gardens and the quiet, relaxing retreats you have made for yourselves, I think you all have reasons to be feel great. I enjoyed seeing and reading about all your entries.

Congratulations Winners! You’re definately winnners in my book! All the entries were wonderful. We’ve had such a strange summer to put up with, and that did not deter our enthusiastic gardeners.
You’re right, Mario, this is a cool forum….....

Why thank you all very much. I just got home from work and checked the emails to see who had written.
I actually had forgotten about the contest, in my state of fatique. We got a new boss yesterday, with all kinds of expectations. On top of that, the coyotes were running back and forth behind us for hours last night. I didn’t get much sleep.
News about the competition just makes my day, just so much better. Thanks for your support. I truly do love my retreats.
Congratulations are due to all of the other contestants, – all very worthy of winning. A special thanks to Iris, who made the retreat competition possible with her entry at the last moment.
Mario, if you are down in the area, don’t be shy about asking about coming over. I have several hundred bottles of wine aging, ... just for your visit. LOL The same goes to any GT members in our area. Call or write first though to be sure that we are actually home.
